Nest and Eryr walked down
to the lakeshore at sunrise,
wrapped in the warmth
of their long night together.
The remaining dark of the indigo sky
still clung to the cool deep water,
and mist rose from its rippled surface
like the remnants of their dreams.
How deep is the lake?
she wondered aloud.
Perhaps as deep as it wants to be,
Eryr replied, and as he spoke,
a sudden breeze startled the leaves
of the alder trees
and the first rays of sun scattered themselves
across the surface of the water
spilling a thousand brilliant diamonds
that obscured the depths below.
Oh, my! What a well-told tale, sistah! Beautiful. I often watch the sunlight playing on the lake outside our window. It is a laughing dance they create! Imbolc blessings.
Thank you Kate! xo
